St. Croix Valley Civil War Roundtable
Of Minnesota and Wisconsin
The SCVCWRT is a non-profit chartered member of the national Civil War Association .  We were established in 1993, with initial meetings in Hudson, Wisconsin and Stillwater, Minnesota.  Most of our members live in the east metro area of the Twin Cities, the Stillwater area of Minnesota, and in Hudson, Wisconsin and surrounding areas.   Along with providing a meeting forum for discussion of historical issues  primarily focused on the Civil War, the club has ongoing goals of promoting interest in the Civil War, providing educational programs, and supporting community efforts in civil war recognition and preservation activies.  We have made annual financial donations to nonprofit organizations, such as the Grand Army of The Republic Museum in Litchfield, Mn., the Confederate Museum in New Orleans, and to various civil war historical sites and preservation activies.

In addition, our organization recently sponsored the republication, and coordinates the sales of,  Edwin Quiner's,  The Military History of Wisconsin in the War for the Union, a definitive work on Wisconsin soldiers in the Union army.  This book is in hardcover, with 1180 pages and includes a new genealogical index of approximately 13,000 names.

The SCVCWRT  works cooperatively with other civil war round tables in Minnesota and Wisconsin to offer joint educational programs, and with state and county historical societies to promote a better understanding and appreciation of the U.S. Civil War.
